Woke up early today.

Even though I don't have to be anywhere or do anything until 11, I decided to wake up at 9. This gives me time to mess around on the computer, take a shower, hang out...the usual. I could work on some homework, especially since I'm a little confused on something.

My Western Civ professor posted a link to an online quiz, but I have no idea of what it's over. We've been watching a movie in class for the last few class periods, and we already had a quiz over the stuff we were working on before the movie, so I don't know if it's a quiz over the movie or what. We haven't had any additional homework other than the movie, so I'm really confused. I can't just click on the link to the quiz, because you can only access it one time and it's timed, so once I open it, I have to take the quiz and I only have 15 minutes to do so. In short, I'm really confused. Also, I have to write an essay for the class that's due next Friday, and the subject was...convenient.

See, I talked with my Worlds Religion professor about an issue I was having over what I was learning in that class versus what I was learning in Western Civ. Both classes are focusing on relatively the same time period and the same civilization, but the information was somewhat contradicting each other, so I talked to Dr. Rouintree (Worlds Rel. professor) about it. Anyways, in our discussion, the Enuma Elish (the Babylonian Genisis) and the Hebrew Genisis came up and he was explaining how you compare the two, and even though their both similiar and they serve the same purpose and even though it's very possible the Hebrew Genisis was influenced by the Enuma Elish, the Hebrew Genisis in fact contradicts a lot of the Enuma Elish. Things can be influenced by outside sources, but that doesn't necessarily mean they're copies of whatever they were influenced by. The Hebrew Genisis takes much of what the Enuma Elish states and refutes it, thus making the Genisis and the Enuma Elish its own individual work.

Most of that probably doesn't make sense, but I thought it was ironic that an issue I was struggling with suddenly became a topic for an essay I have to write. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. It could be good, because I do have my own opinion that I feel I could write a lot about. It could be bad, however, because I was confused about the originial topic...that's what got me on the subject to begin with.

Eh...anyways, I have a little over a week to write it, so I should be okay. I'll probably work things out before then.

Today is Ashley's birthday, so if anyone is reading this, don't forget to call her and wish her Happy Birthday. I'll be doing the same. Laters.
