Basically, I went to the show last night to see the Maine. Well, when we got there we got pretty far up front, but I pushed my way up even further so I was a few feet from the stage...which meant I was right in the mosh pit. That was an interesting experience. It was so packed and tight that no one could even jump. I'm pretty sure the girl next to me didn't even have her feet on the ground. But anyways, there was this crazy tall guy who was, in a word, stoic. He just never moved, which is quite an accomplishment in a mosh pit. I almost got knocked down a couple of times, but I kept getting thrown against this guy, which was nice because that meant no one was running into me on the side that he was in. Anyways, so I was moshing (me...moshing...crazy, right!?) and I was like two feet in front of the love of my life (aka Garrett) which was amazing. I was dancing and singing every word to their songs, but sadly they only played like 5 songs. They played more songs at the venue I saw them at over the summer in Phoenix and they were the opening opening band then...now they were just the opening band (does that make sense? There's two openers then two headliners, and they were the second opener). Anyways, so they didn't perform a lot.
Well, after the concert I really really really wanted to meet them again, so Kaeli and I hung around at the end. Eventually I saw Garrett standing there so I walked up to him and asked if I could take a picture. He said sure, then this conversation took place:
Me: Oh, by the way, we're from Arizona!
Garrett: Oh really? Where from?
Me: Mesa =]
Garrett: Oh cool, I'm from Gilbert.
Me: Ooh what part? (I asked this, thinking he'll say, you know "East Gilbert, North Gilbert," etc...just like I would say, when someone asked this, East Mesa)
Garrett: Warner and Cooper.
Me: (thinking: that was...very specific.) Oh cool. I'm pretty familiar with that area. So...picture?
Then we took the picture. And it was amazing! He's so cute, but last night he looked pretty tired. I guess they drove like 10 hours straight through snow and hail from Denver, so it was pretty rough.
But it was amazing, or should I say aMAINEzing! Yeah that wasn't mine, 'cause I totally stole that from Kaeli. I bought a t-shirt and met a really tall guy from Every Avenue. He was standing there, and this was the conversation:
Guy: Hey you want an Every Avenue CD?
Me: ...SURE!
Guy: They're $5.
Me: Uh, no more money. Sorry! I really wanted one too!
Guy: Oh, that's alright.
Me: You guys were really awesome tonight, though. To be honest, I hadn't heard you before but I'm a fan now!
Guy: Cool, that's always great to hear.
(Silence for a couple of seconds)
Me: Okay, so...you're really tall.
Guy: (laughs and looks down) Am I?
Me: Yeah. Really tall. Just thought I'd throw that out there.
Guy: Oh...cool, I guess.
Me: Sorry, that was really random, wasn't it?
Guy: Yeah, kind of was.
Me: Eh, oh well. Keeps things interesting.
Guy: (laughs) Oh shoot, I'm supposed to be somewhere, but I don't know where. (Stands there for a little bit)
Me: ...Do you think you should find that out?
Guy: Probably. Hey, see ya later!
Me: Yeah, you too! Have a good night.
Guy: (walks around...confused)
He was nice, and pretty cute but genuinely lost, that's for sure. In all fairness, it's pretty crazy outside after shows normally.
So that was my evening! Fun times! Sunday evening I'm going to see Plain White T's with Laura, and we're going to hang out in Kansas City before hand. There's this giant Barnes and Noble that I'm definitely attacking when I get there.
